The Bob Babb Wednesday Walks welcome adults of all ages and levels of ability aged 18 and above. No reservations required. Meet at the Mohonk Preserve West Trapps Trailhead. This is a moderate to strenuous, 4+ mile hike. Please be prepared with appropriate gear for the conditions and type of hike. In case of inclement weather, call June Finer, Hike Coordinator, at 845-255-7247 between 7:30-8am.

Singles and Sociables outings welcome all adult hikers, single and non-single, aged 18 and above. No reservations required. Meet at the Minnewaska State Park Preserve Awosting (lower) Lot. This is a strenuous, 10-mile hike led by John Rashak (845-256-3868). New hikers are strongly encouraged to contact the leader prior to the hike for information on hike levels, what to bring, and other information. Hike leaders determine whether or not to allow pets.

Opening Day for the 2013 Summer Season of the Saugerties Farmers Market will be May 25^th, 10 AM to 2 PM at 119 Main Street Saugerties, NY 12477. We will be offering Fresh and Local fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs, honey, flowers, cheeses, breads and on-site dining.

The Ceremonial Ribbon Cutting will be a 10 AM with local dignitaries attending. Music will be provided throughout the day by Passero, with a Chef’s demonstration, at 11 AM, presented by Jimmy Tamayo. Art Lab Children’s Art Space project- Glossy Paper Flowers.

On Saturday, May 25 at three special times: 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. bring children ages 2-6 to Grasshopper Grove: Nature Play Area, at the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum’s Outdoor Discovery Center, on Muser Drive across from 174 Angola Road, Cornwall for Wiggly Worms. Join Nature Play Educator Alicia Brienza to learn about earth worms. Meet some live earth worms. Before or after the program visitors can explore Grasshopper Grove. Grasshopper Grove is a brand new half-acre of natural elements where young children can find adventure in nature by climbing fallen trees, digging in dirt piles, balancing on boulders and creating imaginative worlds with sticks, pinecones and bark.
