Nature Museum Features Salamanders!
On Sunday, April 7, at 10 a.m. the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum presents: All about Salamanders at the Outdoor Discovery Center, on Muser Drive, across from 174 Angola Road. Join Environmental Educator Carl Heitmuller to discover fascinating facts and fiction about the habits, habitats and life cycles of salamanders. “Many salamanders absorb oxygen through their slimy skin and are lung less,” said Carl. “Handling them can cause severe damage!” As winter fades, the lives of these creatures are reborn. After a short presentation, participants will meet live amphibians from the museum’s collection! Weather permitting join Carl for a short hike in search of these amazing creatures.
