The People of WKZE

Barb

BARB STANLEY has been in radio since 1988 when she started selling for a local radio station in Vermont. Within a short period of time, she met Will who was the competition at another radio station, and they soon started dating. They've been together since 1988 and love working together towards a common goal. Creating a unique and different type of radio station that is truly part of a community is very important! She's very proud of the station's position in the community, the sound and of the folks that work here. It's a fun place to be. Aside from radio, Barb has 4 grown children and 2 granddaughters. Her most favorite thing to do, aside from spending time with her family, is working with horses. They are a huge part of her life! Barb practices Parelli Natural Horsemanship and just loves "playing" with her horses. Barb is also part of an organization called The Equus Projects,(out of NYC), Dancing with Horses,  dancingwithhorses.org  where she is the VP of the Board of Directors. The group pairs professional dancers with mounted and unmounted horses to create a profoundly visual and engaging dance... something truly unique. The group performs and does clinics all over the country. Barb and her horses perform and help with clinics. This is truly one of her passions! You can contact Barb by phone at ext. 122, or by email at

Will

WILL STANLEY started in radio in 1979 in Hanover, New Hampshire and has been an owner/operator since 1984. The last radio station that he ran before 98.1 KZE was WRSI (The River) in Northampton Massachusetts, which he managed from 1997 until 2004. WRSI had a format almost identical to WKZE, and Will and his wife, Barb, made it their goal to prove that this very eclectic and wildly diverse musical format could be a financial, as well as an esthetic, success. Since April of 2005, he and Barb, have owned and run WKZE, and in April of 2006 moved the studios to Red Hook New York. His hobby is writing songs, which you can check out at willstanley.com. You can contact Will by phone at ext. 101 or by email at

Corey COREY SCHNEEBERGER is the host of Movin' & Groovin' on Ssaturday eveingsfrom 7 to 9pm. He got his start at KZE in '99 literally coming in off the street with no radio experience but with a passion for music. Starting as an intern then as the host for Saturday afternoons he finally found his groove(so to speak) as the host of his very own specialty show, Movin' & Groovin'. In his spare time Corey loves catching indie films at Upstate Films, riding his motorcycle on the area's back roads and snowboarding on a foot of powder after a big storm. If you see Corey out and about ask him how it all fits together.
tim_sm.jpg

TIM SCHAEFER got into radio in 1998, after having a very early mid-life crisis.. Quit his "day job", dropped everything and went back to school. She will never know it, but Sinead Lohan's "No Mermaid" helped land Tim his first job in radio. Tim's on the air Sundays from Noon to 4pm and pops up as a fill-in. When not on the air, Tim will likely be driving a gigantic 76 Oldsmobile on a sunny day taking the time to stop at a Salvation Army or yard sale in search of vinyl....

Email Tim with your ideas and request.

Raissa

From drummer in her small town marching band to co-creating the roving party called the Clam Club in the Hudson Valley area in the late 90s. She now works at Bard College with the Bard Music Festival. And just for the record, she has enough 45s to fill her own jukebox 20 times over and more drums than you would ever need to scare all the field mice out of your house.
